Buster Martin, whose given name is Pierre Jean Martin, was born in France back on September 1, 1906. However, he has since taken up residence in the United Kingdom, and is currently believed to be the oldest working person in the UK.

He started working when he was young (somewhere around 10 years old). He has done all sorts of oddball jobs as well as stints in the British Army and Navy at 15, where he became a physical training instructor. He served in World War II, and left the Armed Forces in 1955 after reaching the rank of regimental sergeant major. He eventually returned to work at a market he worked at prior to joining the military, and he stayed there until he was 97. After complaining of boredom, he then resumed work, starting at Pimlico Plumbers in London on a twenty-hour week (three days a week) three months before his 100th birthday.

Martin plans to continue working at Pimlico Plumbers, and says he will "only give up when they put me in a wooden box."

In addition to all his hard work, he was also married and fathered many children. He met his future wife, Iriana, from Tonbridge, Kent, at the age of 13 (she was 12), and they married a year later in France. The couple had 17 children together throughout their 35 years of marriage.
